Read web pages aloud

Hear any article read aloud.

Press play on the page you’re reading, or save it for later. AllReads pulls out the article itself — not the menus, ads or cookie banners around it — and reads it in a natural-sounding voice, highlighting each word as it goes.

How it works

Three steps, then just listen.

  1. 1

    Open any article

A blog post, a newsletter, a news story, a long Reddit thread — anything with words on it.

  2. 2

    Press Listen

In the Chrome extension, or paste the link into your library. On a phone, email it to save@allreads.net.

  3. 3

    Listen now or later

It plays straight away, and everything you save waits in your library for the next walk or commute.

What it does

Built for listening, not just reading out.

Just the article

The main text is pulled out of the page, so you hear the story rather than the navigation around it.

Listen on the page

The Chrome extension reads the article right where you found it, with a voice picker beside the play button.

Threads and posts too

Reddit threads, X posts, Substack notes and Hacker News items read as cleanly as articles.

Newsletters by email

Forward a newsletter to save@allreads.net, or to a private address of your own, and it arrives ready to play.

Screenshot to read

For text the page won’t let you select, drag a box over it and it’s recognised and read aloud.

A library that keeps your place

Saved articles sync across devices and resume from the word where you stopped.

Questions

Fair questions, honest answers.

Do I need to install anything?

No. You can paste any link into your library and listen in the browser. The Chrome extension is optional — it adds a Listen button to every page so you don’t have to copy the link.

Will it read the ads and menus too?

No. AllReads extracts the article’s main text — the headline and body — and leaves out the navigation, sidebars, ads and cookie banners around it.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. Paste a link into the free demo, with no account, and hear the article read aloud before you decide anything.

Can I save articles to listen to later?

Yes. Save from the Chrome extension, by pasting a link, or by emailing save@allreads.net. Everything lands in one library that syncs between desktop and phone.

Does it work with Reddit, X and Substack?

Yes. Reddit threads, X posts, Substack notes and Hacker News items are read cleanly, and with the extension each one gets a save button of its own, which you can switch off per site.

Can I download an article as an MP3?

Yes. Any saved article can be exported as an .mp3 in your chosen voice and played offline in any audio or podcast app.

Which voices can I use?

Thirteen AllReads voices come with every plan, in American and British English, with no API key and nothing billed by the word. If you already pay OpenAI or xAI, add your own key to use their voices too, billed by them at their price with nothing added on top.

How fast can it read?

Anywhere from 0.5× to 3×, adjustable while it plays.
