Premium voices,
at cost.

Other apps rent you a voice and charge for it monthly, forever. AllReads plugs into your own API key, so you pay OpenAI or xAI directly — typically a few cents for a full article. We never mark it up. No key? The built-in browser voice is free.

  • Eleven premium voices — six from OpenAI, five from xAI — plus free browser voices
  • Read-along word highlighting that follows the audio
  • Speed from 0.75× to 2×, and it picks up where you left off

Questions

Fair questions, honest answers.

Why do I bring my own API key?

Because it’s dramatically cheaper for you. Apps that bundle “premium voices” charge a monthly fee forever to cover everyone’s usage. With your own key you pay OpenAI or xAI directly — typically a few cents for a full article — and AllReads never marks it up. Your key is encrypted at rest and only used for your own requests. Prefer zero setup? The built-in browser voice works with no key at all.

Is it really just one payment?

Yes. You pay $29 once to unlock AllReads, and it’s yours. No free trial to forget to cancel, no monthly or annual plan, no renewal, no surprise emails next year.

Which voices can I use?

Six OpenAI voices (Alloy, Echo, Fable, Onyx, Nova and Shimmer) and five from xAI (Eve, Ara, Rex, Sal and Leo) with your own key — plus your browser’s built-in voices for free. Preview each voice in-app and switch whenever you like.
